Yannis Sotiropoulos began Aikido at the age of fourteen with Janet Clift and Eamonn Devlin. He has attended seminars with teachers such as Y. Fujimoto, T. Miyamoto, S. Endo, Didier Boyet, Christian Tissier, S. Sugawara, Y. Kobayashi, T. Mori, Donovan Waite, John Stevens, Chris Mooney, Gordon Jones, John Rogers, Robert Savoca, Emilio Cardia, Juba Nour and Michael Ibers. He holds the rank of 3rd Dan and the title of Fukushidoin (Federation Assistant Instructor) of the Aikikai of Greece Federation. He is responsible for the Aikido dojos of the National Technical University of Athens and Peristeri and has taught at many seminars around Greece (e.g. Syros, Kalamata, Nafplio).
